Written by the expert war writer John A. Mizzi, this 96-page A4 publication gives a detailed account of the Operation and is packed with historical information, survivor stories, photos, maps and illustrations on this heroic enterprise that saved the faith of Malta during the second world war. 

The book tells the true story of this epic naval operation, mounted in 1942 to relieve Malta from the onslaught of attacks by the forces of the Axis. This operation, codenamed ‘Pedestal’, is today commonly referred to as ‘il-Convoy ta’ Santa Marija’. The book also includes information about the stamp issue. ‘Il-Convoy ta’ Santa Marija’ is undoubtedly an iconic landmark event in the history of Malta and it is therefore only fitting that those who paid the ultimate price in this operation. We will remember them.
